Objectives
The objective of the PhD Program at Galgotias University is to enable students to engage in advanced study, original and independent research in their areas of specialization & the application of their scientific knowledge to the solution of technical & scientific problems
Students at Galgotias University are expected to develop the capacity for objective enquiry as well as the awareness and sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of the society
Area/Disciplines of PhD Program
Engineering & Technology: Computer Science & engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering
Computer & Information Sciences: Computer Applications
All candidates seeking admission to the PhD Program shall have to possess requisite marks/grades in qualifying exam as indicated below: Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Business Administration with a minimum 55% marks (CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale) or equivalent such as M.Sc. (Engineering) / M.S. by research Masters degree with a minimum 60 % in Humanities /Social Sciences/Language/other Non-engineering program are also eligible
Selection Procedure
Admission shall be based on: a) Satisfying the requirements of minimum qualifications b) Performance in Interview for those who have qualified in UGC NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship holder or M Phil c) Performance in i) PhD Written Exam to be conducted by Galgotias University for all those who are not qualified in any of the exams mentioned above ii) Subsequent Interview by the panel including Departmental Research Committee (DRC) members and other professors/experts appointed by the Dean of the concerned school d) Candidates are required to propose and discuss their research interests and research hypothesis at the time of Interview e) The University reserves the right to limit the number of scholars to be admitted to the University at any time. This decision would be guided by the available resources and other facilities f) The names of the selected candidates will be displayed on the website g) The selected students shall be allowed provisional registration after he/she has paid the fees prescribed by the University
A downloaded hardcopy of the same should be sent to the Registrar, Galgotias University, Plot No 2, Sector 17 A, Yamuna Expressway, Gautam Buddh Nagar, 203201 Uttar Pradesh along with a demand draft of Rs 1100/ ? drawn in favor of ‘Galgotias University’ payable at Greater Noida/Noida
Application form may also be obtained from the office of Admissions, Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh against a demand draft/cash deposit on any working day
